The four sides are all viewable, and the color is brighter and fuller than the AGS-101 screen.
Supports 10 levels of brightness adjustment (requires additional welding of 3 wires)
The pixels are four times larger than ags-101, the image is not pulled up, the same proportion as the GBA original screen.
It's very easy to install, and if you don't need brightness adjustment, you don't even need to connect any wires. It supports 32pin and 40pin ports.
Screen × 1
Transfer Cable × 1
Custom Screen Glass × 1
The ISP panel's viewing area is slight larger than that of the AGS-101. In order to make the entire display visible, the LCD requires a lens with a slightly larger viewing area (~1 mm on each side).
Due to the black magic used to create this panel and ribbon adapter, there's avisible diagonal frame refreshthat can occur in moments of transition in some games. This is due to the frame buffer. It's subtle and we consider the benefits of the display to outweigh this minimal tearing, but please keep this in mind before you purchase this product. ( not include insulation film in kit )
LCD may break under pressure or if dropped. We recommend you exercise care when installing this product.
Even though I prefer the more 'authentic' look of the AGS-101 screen, this screen is exactly what I expected when I ordered it: great brightness, absurdly easy to install (I was every GBA mod was this easy) and it doesn't drain the battery.
Great mod, installation took about 10 minutes total.
Great screen, but not so great instructions. Ended up using YouTube tutorials to do it.
Very happy with the image and brightness.
Very nice screen, great kit, easy to install
Jong Min K.
The two sides of the liquid crystal do not fit at all.
This is rubbish.
The liquid crystal itself has a tiering.
I like this screen. The colors are sharp and the brightness setting is a great thing. Of course you have to exercise caution while istalling. Of course there are some mischiefs among us that are clumsy enough to destroy such a display as Mr. Schuyler did...
My adice: Let pros do the work for you :D
Got the screen fit after reading the instructions carefully. Spent 2 hours with a craft knife to carefully fit it in. Once it was in, the bezel was still off on the top and bottom, no template was provided and I should have stenciled one.
When trying to carefully remove the LCD with heat and spudgers, it cracked almost immediately, I gave up.
I loaded up Gunstar Super Heroes and the tearing was just awful, slow enough where it looked like the screen was redrawing incredibly slowly. It was so distracting, I wouldn't recommend playing any action games at all.
With the screen so wrapped up in adhesive backing, it was difficult to test fit, so I had to rely on guess work for fitting, the bevel didn't match after installation, trying hard to remove the screen carefully, but cracked incredibly easily, all that work and money for nothing, don't waste your money on this garbage.
Simply stunning - bright and beautifully colourful. A welcome refresh to the tired looking AGS101 LCDs that we are used to - great work!
I am very satisfied. The installation is absolutely straight forward, just plug it in and you're good to go. Even if the ribbon cable fits both 32 and 40 pins GBAs, best results come with 40 pins boards, since you don't have to fold the cable.
The screen is bright, crisp and accurate, and the brightness control os very precise and easy to implement.
I give it a 9/10 because there is a little bit of tearing. I mean, nothing "unbearable" like someone online says, but it's there.
First of all, the fact we get this at all is amazing, considering how expensive AGS-101 LCDs are at this point this IPS panel is amazing.
The colors, brightness and sharpness are all really good, but and this is a big one the diagonal screen tearing, it may not bother some people but from someone who is used to 144hz displays I can immediately tell and while I can ignore it because the alternative is to pay upwards of $80 plus soldering equipment and other stuff to get an AGS-101 screen in my GBA so it gets a pass from me.
Hopefully it gets an updated version to fix the issue and if it does I will definitely be buying one, I made a video installing the screen and testing some games for anybody reading this review: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xyuQ85uIPIY&t=1s
Brightness and sharpness are wonderful! Illumination switching is also good! It takes some effort to make it beautiful with the included glass.
Messed up putting the screen in the GBA due to poor diagrams online (hard to read and see). But I absolutely love it. There is some major tearing on certain games, but I can easily look passed it and enjoy it. Worth getting imo
The screen is amazing. Not as smooth as the original screen but the colour and resolution is amazing. Easy installation.
Хороший экран. Сочные цвета и углы обзора. Проблемы есть с разрывом картинки при движении в некоторых играх. Но со временем я перестал обращать на это внимание. Экран лучше чем на gba sp 101 и ds lite.
Beautiful display, but glass screen was offset or just defective out of the box so need to purchase a centered one separate.
Unfortunately, the screen tearing makes some games unplayable, hopefully, there's a fix released for that soon. Apart from that the screens great: 4 to 1 pixel ration, adjustable brightness, etc.
I have to order 3D parts to centre the screen. And the display flickers in games.
Easy installation, great viewing angles, deep blacks, vibrant colors, annoying screen tearing.
Completely changed my Gba.
Fantastic colors, brightness, contrast. But the screen has a big problem - the tearing, in fast games. Games about Mario or Yoshi, Metroid - OK, everything looks good. If something is faster, defects will be visible.
The picture quality is great, and the install was also okay, wish there was a tutorial on it though. Sadly the weird tearing makes it pretty much unusable for any fast paced side scrollers.
